The Ships

EZRA

Ezra is a faithful replica of the 19th century pilot cutters of southwest England - and thus a (charmingly beautiful) piece of the living history of shipbuilding. Even under the most adverse conditions, the cutters had to be able to set down pilots on the merchant ships calling at the important ports of England. In heavy seas and strong winds, pilots were particularly in demand, and the pilot cutters that brought them to their workplaces had to be able to cope with these harsh conditions.
That is why they are still one of the most seaworthy vessels ever built - and that is why owner and skipper Ron Pfister chose this very type of vessel.
